Indian Railway is the fourth largest railway network in the World. Indian Railway founded in 8th of May 1845 and Railway Headquartered in New Delhi. As per the employees, Indian Railway is the eighth-largest employer in the World. India’s first passenger train ran between Bombay and Thane on 16th April 1853. India’s first passenger train, hauled by three steam locomotive (Sahib, Sindh and Sultan) with 400 passengers ran for 34 kilometres. Indian Railway is divided into 17 zones, headed by General Managers.  The General Managers directly report to the Railway Board. Employees get medical facilities, and Railways also pay for medical treatment in other hospitals. Total railway network track length is 119,640 km and total route length is 66,687 km.
